Yes, it needs work, but so do pricier, less desirable homes. I'm happy with the location, balance of outdoor and indoor space, high ceilings, practical layout with everything on one floor, and numerous large windows. (See the May/June update).
I'm lucky to have a front patio. Many homes are built to the front property line.
The alcove allows cross-ventilation for the kitchen and space for a propane tank, etc.
Front door. A small car will fit inside the gate under the window. I'll get one eventually.
The step will need modification to allow access around the car.
Kitchen as seen from the back. The wall will be moved outward to enlarge the room.
Bath and bedroom from the back. The plumbing system will be "revisited".
Back garden. The space will be expanded to allow for more trees and plants.
Patio roof and supports will be removed to provide an open area.
The shrine will be returned to the former owners' family or moved to the garden.
Unfinished block structure about 4.5 meters square. Update: Gone!
